Stuttering Foundation Receives $55,000 Bequest from Lemanow Estate
Memphis, Tenn. (March 21, 2023) – The Stuttering Foundation [1], with offices in Memphis, Tennessee, and St. Simons Island, Georgia, today received a bequest of $55,475 from the estate of Edith Lemanow of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania.
“We are extremely grateful for the generosity of the late Ms. Lemanow, and all of our donors, who make our continued work possible,” said Stuttering Foundation President Jane Fraser. “All donations are used to further the Foundation’s mission of providing free online resources, services and support to those who stutter and their families, as well as support for research into the causes of stuttering. The Foundation also offers extensive training programs on stuttering for professionals. Nearly 95 cents of every dollar received is put toward program services.”
As the first and the largest nonprofit charitable organization in the world working toward the prevention and improved treatment of stuttering, The Stuttering Foundation reaches more than a million people annually.
The Stuttering Foundation is a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and is classified as a private operating foundation as defined in section 4942(j)(3).
